Michael Kwadwo Dukiel

Michael's father passed away before he was born and his mother is having a very difficult time providing for her family.

Michael attends St. Cecilia Educational Centre in Ghana. In Sub-Saharan Africa, 42% of children leave school early. Michael lives with his mother and three siblings in a rural community in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. Children in rural communities, like Michael's, are two times more likely to be out of school than a child in an urban environment. It is not uncommon for adults in Michael's community to be uneducated and provide food for their families through gardening and growing food on small plots of land or farms.

Michael says he wants to be a business man when he grows up and he likes learning math. His father died before Michael was born and his mother is finding it very difficult to provide for her children. She doesn't have a job and as a result three of her children aren't able to attend school. This is not uncommon in Michael's community. There are many families that aren't able to educate all of their children because the cost is just too high.

It will cost $189 for Michael to attend school this year. If we can help pay for Michael's school tuition, his mother will be in a better situation to provide educational opportunities for her other children. Let's work together to help this mother educate her children!
