Abigail Yeboah

Abigail is an orphan whose caretaker hopes to keep her in school.

Abigail is 12 years old and entering the 5th grade student in a rural community in Ghana. It's not uncommon for students to be delayed in academic advancement because their families weren't able to pay school tuition on a number of occasions. Of the 72 million primary school-age children that aren't in school about half of them reside in Sub-Saharan African countries like Ghana. Parents in developing countries are increasingly disappointed in the public school systems and prefer to send their children to affordable private schools like Yesu Mmo.

Abigail's parents got a divorce and became unable to care for her. A relative brought her to live at a small orphanage with a guardian who cares for 20 other orphans and children who's parents were unable to take care of them. Abigail's guardian believes that education is important and is doing all she can to create brighter futures for the children she cares for. Abigail is a great student, who did not miss even one day of school last year! She is very funny and enjoys learning math. She hopes to be a teacher when she grows up. In her free time she likes to play soccer.

Abigail's tuition fee includes the cost to attend school ($154) as well the cost for text books/stationary ($42), exercise books ($8), school uniform with footwear ($50), school lunch/bus transportation ($166) cost for the year. Her guardian's compassion and commitment to the needy children of her village is commendable. Let's join her in creating opportunity for Abigail!
